What is Dementia Care?

Dementia is a progressive condition that affects memory, cognitive abilities, and communication skills. While it can be challenging, with the right level of support, those living with dementia can continue to enjoy an excellent quality of life. At Mayflower Care Home, our approach is person-centred, focusing on preserving independence for as long as possible while offering sensitive and professional care when it’s needed.

Our team creates personalised care plans that take into account each resident’s health, interests, and personal history. This enables us to design days filled with familiar routines and enjoyable moments, supporting emotional well-being as well as physical health.
