The circus came to Mayflower Care Home in Gravesend for a colourful and entertaining afternoon filled with laughter, games and plenty of circus magic.
Although the weather had other plans for the day, the team quickly adapted and brought the party indoors. The change of plan did nothing to dampen the atmosphere, with residents, staff and visitors all getting into the spirit of the occasion.
One of the biggest attractions was the stilt walker, who certainly knew how to make an entrance. Towering above everyone, they spent time greeting residents and posing for photographs, creating plenty of smiles and memorable moments throughout the afternoon.
Residents were also treated to a visit from a talented face painter, who created some fantastic designs and added even more colour to the celebrations. It was lovely to see residents getting involved and enjoying the opportunity to try something a little different.
There were plenty of circus-themed games to enjoy too, giving residents the chance to have some fun together and get involved at their own pace. With the entertainment taking place around them, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the home as everyone enjoyed the afternoon together.
Of course, no circus-themed party would be complete without some classic food. Residents tucked into hot dogs and burgers, adding to the traditional feel of the event and providing a tasty treat to enjoy alongside all the entertainment.

Their hard work and enthusiasm helped turn what could have been a disappointing change of plans into a memorable celebration. The afternoon was a lovely reminder that sometimes the best memories come from simply making the most of the moment. Despite the change in plans, Mayflower’s circus party was full of colour, laughter, good food and time spent together.
