Caribbean Summer Celebration Creates a Day to Remember at Mayflower Care Home

Residents, families and staff came together for a fantastic Caribbean Summer Celebration at Mayflower Care Home, enjoying an afternoon filled with delicious food, live entertainment and plenty of summer fun.

The home was transformed with colourful tropical decorations, creating a vibrant atmosphere as everyone gathered to enjoy a traditional Caribbean barbecue with all the trimmings. With the sunshine making a welcome appearance, residents spent time outdoors chatting with loved ones, sharing laughter and making the most of the beautiful weather.

A highlight of the day was a fantastic live performance from the talented Lauren Austin, whose lively mix of well-known songs had residents singing along, clapping, dancing and enjoying every moment. Her performance created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon and helped make the celebration even more memorable.

The event was made possible thanks to the incredible efforts of Mayflower's Activities Team, who worked hard to organise the celebration, decorate the home and prepare the barbecue. Their creativity and dedication ensured every detail helped bring the Caribbean theme to life. A special thank you also goes to the Kitchen Team for preparing a delicious feast and to the wider care team, whose support throughout the day ensured everyone could relax and enjoy the occasion.
