Resident Caroline was born and spent most of her childhood in Edinburgh, she then moved to Norfolk when she became a Nurse. However, her Scottish roots are always with her and when she turned 80 years old, the home had a very special Scottish celebration for her!

Together with her family, residents and staff, everyone enjoyed a Scottish themed afternoon, including haggis, mashed potatoes and swede for lunch all topped off with Champagne and birthday cake.

Caroline’s family also arranged for an opera singer as a special surprise, as this is one of Caroline’s favourite styles of music. Since the age of 8 years old Caroline has played the piano and has a real love of traditional Scottish Gaelic, and it’s not uncommon to hear a tune or two from Caroline! So, when the opera music began the excitement from Caroline’s face was obvious, this really was a very special Birthday treat.

To finish the party off in style, Caroline also got up herself and sung a Scottish song for everyone which was enjoyed by everyone.
